Medat Kagarov was a distinguished Uzbek graphic master, painter, People's Artist of Uzbekistan, and Academician of the Academy of Arts of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan. An alumnus of the celebrated Stroganov Academy in Moscow, he mastered both European classical painting and Eastern miniature graphics. Renowned for his metaphorical lithographs and philosophical ink works, Kagarov holds a pivotal place in Central Asian art history.
